Candomblé is an Afro-syncretic religion based on the practices of West African tribes mixed with the Catholic beliefs of Portuguese slavers. Literally meaning Dance in Honor of the Gods, Candomblé is highly focused on ritual music and dance, and shares many of it's other beliefs with Santeria, believing in a single god, Oludumaré, and many lesser spirits, Orishas.

History Edit

Much like Vodun and Santeria, Candomblé was a mix between the religions of the slaves and the Portuguese slavers brought to the Portuguese colonies (mainly Brazil). While widely practiced, it was never a state religion until the Event. Brazilian Candomblé warriors eventually mastered the jungles of their homeland, subsequently capturing the rest of South America, and working their way north through Panama.

Brazilian invaders will bring their religion with them when they invade Latin America from the south, but may eventually convert to one of the other local religions, abandoning the Candomblé faith.

Holy Sites Edit

Like most invaders, Candomblé holy sites are more along the lines of major cities they'd like to have, being as the important cities to their faith are likely off the map.

  • Havana
  • Port-au-Prince
  • San Salvador
  • Chichen Itza
  • Mexico

Mechanics Edit

There is and can exist no religious head for the Candomblé faith. For the most part, the religion is limited to Brazilian invaders, unless another outside nation is converted by the invaders.
