The Papacy, alternatively New Rome, is a Catholic theocracy in the Midwest at the present day site of the city of St. Louis. It serves as the demesne of the Catholic religious head, the Pope, Bishop of New Rome. The Papacy for the Americas moved to St. Louis following the Event, as all communication with "Old" Rome was lost in the cataclysm. As of July 4th, 2666, it is led by Pope Praised-Be. Its capital is St. Louis (1050).
